Film Screening - "Positive Women: Exposing Injustice"

Positive Women: Exposing Injustice is a 45-minute documentary film that tells the personal stories of four women in Canada living with HIV: a Quebecoise who was charged for not telling her partner at the beginning of an ultimately abusive relationship that she had HIV; a young woman who chose not to pursue charges against the man who infected her; an Aboriginal woman who has personally faced extreme stigma and threats; and a Latina woman who describes the challenges of disclosure and intimate relationships for women living with HIV.

Stratford AIDS Vigil

STRATFORD

Regional HIV/AIDS Connection will once again be hosting a World AIDS Day candle light vigil in Stratford. Please join us as we join millions around the world in remembering, honoring and celebrating the lives we’ve lost and those who are still with us.

World AIDS Day

December 1 is World AIDS Day. On this important day wearing a red ribbon signifies support of those living with HIV and remembrance of those lost to AIDS. Wearing a red ribbon will show you care about the issue of HIV/AIDS in your community as well as world wide.

World AIDS Day was first observed December 1, 1988. It was conceived by public information officers for the Global Program on AIDS at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland (now known as UNAIDS.)

World AIDS Day Vigil

LONDON

Each year on December 1, World AIDS Day, RHAC, in conjunction with several community partners, organizes an AIDS Vigil in London.

This year's World AIDS Day Vigil in London will be held at Civic Garden Complex, 625 Springbank Drive, London starting at 6:30 p.m.

AIDS Awareness Week/World AIDS Day

AIDS Awareness Week and World AIDS Day

The week of November 26-December 1, 2012 marks AIDS Awareness Week in Canada. The week is a chance for RHAC to raise awareness about the many issues associated with HIV/AIDS locally. It culminates each year with World AIDS Day on December 1, a day dedicated to increasing awareness of HIV/AIDS issues worldwide and an occasion to call upon leaders to honour their commitments in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

This has become an annual fundraising event for RHAC. A screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show is presented the Thursday evening before Hallowe'en at Rainbow Cinemas, proud supporters of the HIV/AIDS cause.

We encourage all attendees to dress up as their favourite Rocky Horror character and participate in the costume contest before the screening. For a $2 entry fee, you can win some great prizes!

Costume contest: 7:30 p.m.
Screening: 8:00 p.m.

Film Night at RHAC
