Ambassador Training

Ambassador is a dynamic volunteer training program for people who enjoy working with other in communication-intensive settings.

Ambassador training is ideal for, but certainly not limited to, people who have already completed Basics and Beyond the Basics trainings.

Ambassador aims to support you as you develop skills geared toward translating your knowledge of HIV/AIDS into practice by offering information, tips and guidance that will help you as you engage in various types of community outreach activities.

Beyond the Basics

Beyond the Basics is a great program for volunteers who have completed Basics training and who want to learn about HIV/AIDS and related issues in more depth. 

Beyond the Basics is a foundation for Ambassador training and a good training opportunity for anyone who would like to volunteer in community settings. 

Beyond the Basics will equip you with information to help you answer questions during outreach, raise community awareness about HIV/AIDS and related issues, and contribute to the elimination of stigma and discrimination.

Volunteer Orientation: Beyond the Basics

Beyond the Basics on October 1 from 3-5 p.m. is open to both new and existing volunteers. The Beyond the Basics Training will go into more depth about the types of volunteer engagement you could get involved with in each of the Education, Client Services, Counterpoint Harm Reduction, and Community Relations departments. Topics covered the afternoon of October 1 include:

Being an RHAC Ambassador
Direct Client Support Training
Harm Reduction, Counterpoint
Community Based Fundraising, or Fundraising 101
