Each year Regional HIV/AIDS Connection organizes three main fundraising events: A Taste For LIfe, Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life and Rocky Horror Picture Show. These events help support free programs and services that otherwise would not exist for people living with, affected by and at risk for HIV/AIDS.

A Taste For Life 2011 – A Savoury Success

The grand total is finally in! Thank you to our sponsors, restaurants, diners and the many volunteers who supported Regional HIV/AIDS Connection’s 8th Annual A Taste For Life fundraising event on Wednesday, April 27. 2,200 diners visited 31 local restaurants and helped raise over $72,000 in support of Regional HIV/AIDS Connections free services and programs for people living with, affected by or at risk for HIV/AIDS.

Without fundraised dollars RHAC would not be able to continue to provide free services such as: Country Cupboard Food Bank, Wellness Assistance Fund, two AIDS vigils and much more.

Once again thank you for your support and we hope you will join us again on April 25, 2012.

A Taste For Life is the signature fundraising event for the agency. It is a dining event in which participating restaurants agree to donate the equivalent of 25% of the night’s proceeds to RHAC. Thousands of people dine out in our Taste restaurants enjoying good food for a great cause! They also make generous donations above the cost of their meals that evening.

In 2011, we enjoyed the participation of 31 owner-operated restaurants in London and area. A Taste For Life has captured the attention and philanthropic inclinations of people all over London and we thank our loyal supporters for their continued interest in our cause!

Our goal this year was to raise $75,000. As soon as we have the final tally from all restaurant donations, we will post the overall fundraising result.

Congratulations to the three draw winners of shopping and dining prizes courtesy of Downtown London and Kingsmill’s Department Store. The following people were notified and given their prizes:

$500 Grand Prize of $300 in Kingsmill’s gift certificates and $200 in Downtown Dollars:

Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life

The early fundraised total from this year's Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life which happened on Saturday, September 17 at Springbank Gardens is over $30,000!

The AIDS Walk for Life fundraiser is one of the most visible and recognizable events in North America. In Canada alone over 40 cities are scheduled to walk between September 17 -25, 2011. The Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life in London will take place Saturday, September 17 at Wonderland Gardens, Springbank Park.

All funds raised through London’s Walk stay within the community to support three partner agencies: Camp Wendake, John Gordon Home and Regional HIV/AIDS Connection. Together these organizations provide a complementary suite of services to those living with, affected by and at risk for HIV/AIDS.

All promotional products such as the Save the Date fridge magnets and cards, t-shirts, ruby AIDS lapel pins, etc. have been provided to each Walk site free of charge by our national sponsor, Scotiabank. These items make it possible for us to raise awareness about the event and to raise some extra dollars through sales. Thank you, Scotiabank!

Celebrating 21 years in 2011, we are aiming for 21 teams to walk! Gather your friends and colleagues and walk with us.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Thursday, October 27 at Rainbow Cinemas

Our Rocky Horror Picture Show event is London’s most fun fundraising event of the entire year! LAVISH is the Exclusive Sponsor of this year's Rocky Horror Picture Show Event! LAVISH is London's premiere alternative nightspot at 238 Dundas Street in downtown London.

Before the screenings of Rocky Horror Picture Show at Rainbow Cinemas, there is a costume contest at 7:30 and 10:30. We encourage film viewers to dress as their favourite Rocky Horror character or in some other creative Hallowe’en costume. Prizes are awarded for best costumes!

This year there will be two screenings of the film - starting at 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased in advance at Rainbow Cinemas or the Biz Booth at Fanshawe College, or at the door only at Rainbow Cinemas the night of the event. Download the poster!
