The 2010 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life - New Location!
The 2010 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life is scheduled for Sunday, September 12 at Springbank Gardens. Once again, funds raised support essential programs and services for
people living with, affected by and at-risk for
HIV/AIDS in our community. The Walk is organized in partnership with
AIDS Committee of London,
John Gordon Home and
Camp Wendake .
Organizers of the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life in London do not support door to door solicitation of funds. We strongly encourage pledges to family, co-workers and friends.
The safest, most secure way to pledge is online at www. aidswalkforlife.ca where you will automatically have access to a charitable tax receipt.
Last year's Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life in London raised over $40,000 for the three partner organizations. Our goal this year is $45,000! Help us reach the top by pledging a friend

WHY: The AIDS Committee of London is holding a special dinner event to commemorate 25 years of service delivery in London and area for people living with, affected by and at-risk for HIV/AIDS.
Over the past 25 years many people have been a part of the development of the AIDS Committee of London. In its earliest days,
the agency was wholly run by volunteers who saw an urgent need in the community and were willing to address it head on with determination and compassion.
As the HIV/AIDS cause shifted and evolved many of the pioneers of the AIDS movement in this community have either passed away or moved on to other things.
We are interested in reconnecting with the people who have impacted the development of the agency. 2010 marks 25 years of ACOL working for the rights and
dignity of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in our community. To commemorate the journey we are planning a special event at which we will remember the
lives lost to AIDS and the reasons the agency was created, honour our past and the people who had the strength and courage to do what is right and to celebrate our
achievements while looking forward to the great work we will continue to do for the community.

A Taste For Life 2010 - Wednesday, April 28!
A Taste For Life has become the signature event of the AIDS Committee of London (ACOL). Last year's event raised close to $75,000 to support
programs and services for people living with, affected by and at-risk for HIV/AIDS in our community.
This year we are shooting for the participation of 35 owner-operated restaurants in London and area. Our goal is $80,000! A Taste For Life has
captured the attention and philanthropic inclinations of people all over London and we thank our loyal supporters for their continued interest in our cause!

Update about the renaming of ACOL
Dear Supporters:
We received a great response to our "What's in a Name" contest. Thank you to all who took the time to send in suggestions for a new agency name.
In the late spring/early summer, as part of our strategic planning implementation, we will move forward with development of a plan for the name
change and rebranding of the organization. The plan for this process, including the name change, will involve approval from the Board of Directors.
As you can imagine, selecting a new name for the agency is a critically important decision, into which many considerations will factor for moving forward
seamlessly and confidently. We want to ensure the name we select is one that will serve the agency for many years to come. If during the final decision
making process one of the names submitted is selected we will contact the individual and make an announcement through our various communication
vehicles such as our stakeholders list, web site and newsletter.
