Volunteer Orientation

If you are interested in becoming an RHAC volunteer, you can attend Volunteer Orientation. An orientation session for new volunteers and people interested in volunteering will be held on Tuesday, November 1 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at RHAC. At this session you will learn about RHAC's mission and values, what volunteer opportunities are available, and learn some HIV Basics.

Anonymous HIV Testing in St. Thomas

Regional HIV/AIDS Connection and the London Intercommunity Health Centre - Options Clinic will be hosting a free, anonymous HIV testing clinic in St. Thomas from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. The Clinic will be held at the Central Community Health Clinic at 359 Talbot St., St. Thomas. Rapid testing is done in a private room, which allows you to get your results in 15-20 minutes. You will receive pre- and post-test information and counselling. No appointments needed - just drop-in!

Women's HIV and Hepatitis C Education and Testing

Regional HIV/AIDS Connection, the London Intercommunity Health Centre - Options Clinic, and the Women's Rural Resource Centre will be hosting an afternoon of education on women's risks of HIV and Hepatitis C. This event will also include the chance to have a free, anonymous HIV test. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 4th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Women's Rural Resource Centre at 145 Beech St., Strathroy.

Anonymous HIV Testing in Grand Bend

Regional HIV/AIDS Connection and the London Intercommunity Health Centre - Options Clinic will be hosting a free, anonymous HIV testing clinic in Grand Bend on Saturday, July 30th from 9:00 am - 11:30 am. The Clinic will be held at the Grand Bend Area Community Health Clinic at 69 Main St. E., Grand Bend. Rapid testing is done in a private room, which allows you to get your results in 15-20 minutes. You will receive pre- and post-test information and counselling. No appointments needed - just drop-in!

Winners Circle

Winners Circle is a social support group for long-term survivors of HIV/AIDS. The group meets on the third Thursday of each month for food, discussion and social activities. This is a closed group, however, opportunties for new membership open twice a year. If you are interested in being considered for membership or would like more information on the group, contact Rob Newman.

Women's Retreat

Women living with HIV/AIDS are invited to attend a Wellness Retreat September 14 - 16 at the Elm Hurst Inn. Women living with HIV/AIDS from the six counties RHAC serves (Perth, Huron, Oxford, Elgin, Middlesex and Lambton) are welcome to attend and are not required to be clients of RHAC. Country Cupboard Opens

On the 15th of every month (or the Friday before the 15th), the Country Cupboard Food Bank opens to clients until the end of the month. PHA clients are able to come to RHAC and get groceries once during each Country Cupboard period. For more information on Country Cupboard, contact Rob Newman.

ED & Client Lunch

PHA Clients are invited to join the Executive Director, Brian Lester, and the Director of Client Services, Shannon Dougherty for lunch and discussion on July 22. This lunch serves to give PHA clients a chance to provide feedback on RHAC's services, as well as enjoy some good food and company. Bar Outreach

Find an RHAC Educator out at Lavish on the last Thursday of each month. Stop and chat about any sexual health questions you may have or grab some free condoms. For more information on Bar Outreach, contact Kevin Murphy.
