TD Bank Financial Group presents A Taste For Life. Our biggest fundraiser returns for its fifth year. Last year we raised $56,000 for HIV/AIDS - Plan to be a part of it on Wednesday April 23rd by dining out at a participating restaurant and help us do even better! With 29 restaurants there is something for everyone. For more a list of restaurants and more, see the site
Canada needs to make a commitment to fight AIDS!
If you agree that Federal funding cuts for HIV prevention are a concern in your community, we invite you to send a postcard to the Federal Government. Its free when writing to an elected official. See www.increaseaidsfunding.ca for more information.

Thank you all entrants!
The AIDS Committee of London thanks everyone who submitted entries to Watch Us Stop AIDS. You have impressed us with your originality and your knowledge! Your videos will help to combat ignorance, to promote understanding, and to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS. Even if only one person changes their thinking because of your video, you have made a real difference! Please continue to gain inspiration and information about the issues. We look forward to watching your videos next year!
Jana Singh’s Bad News won the top honour of Grand Prize. Jana's entry presented the importance of getting tested from a youth’s perspective by receiving a text message in class. Anton DeLost’s Protection Isn’t Just About Pregnancy won Best Secondary. Anton's video highlighted an unfortunate but real misconception about contraceptives – some contraceptives (like the pill) do not guard against HIV. Betty Li’s Let's Stop AIDS won both Best Post-Secondary and People’s Choice. This video featured a twist on the transmission of HIV; instead of a virus; a message of empowerment was passed from person to person.
Congratulations also to runners-up Jaydan Bhooshan (Huron Park Secondary), Brent Holmes (Huron Park Secondary) and the members of Zoom-In Productions (Strathroy Disctrict Collegiate Institute).
The winning entrants of Watch Us Stop AIDS were awarded at the HIV/AIDS Awareness Youth Expo on Wednesday, November 28th, 2007. You can see the three winning videos at www.watchusstopaids.com.
Greater Involvement of People Living with HIV/AIDS
The Living & Serving II report provides findings from a follow-up study to Charles Roy’s (1996) report, Living & Serving: Persons with HIV in the AIDS Movement in Canada, which examined the involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS (PHAs) in community AIDS organizations across Canada.
This recently published document, and the principles behind it, are an important guiding force in the work of the AIDS Committee of London. Read the report here.
